Department of Chemistry of Shiraz University has been established in 1958
with classes and the laboratories hosted in the main building of the Shiraz
Medical School. Having started with four faculty members in 1966, the
graduate school has promoted to offer M.S degree in organic chemistry.
It was the first goal of Shiraz University seeking competition with high-ranked
Universities around the world. Department of Chemistry has organized facilities
with excellent academic faculties to conduct high quality research works,
training and education nation wide.
As a frontier in the nation, Department of Chemistry has conducted Ph.D.
program in Organic Chemistry since 1984, and in subsequent years in Analytical
Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, and Polymer Chemistry.
The graduates are now taking positions in universities and research institutes,
and have proved themselves as qualified scientists at national and international
levels.
